The Port of Gdańsk has reported its strongest first-half container performance on record, driven by rising cargo volumes, expanded shipping connectivity, and continued investment in port infrastructure. The milestone underscores the Polish port’s growing importance as a major logistics gateway for Central and Eastern Europe.
During the first six months of 2026, container throughput recorded robust year-on-year growth, supported by higher import and export activity, stronger transshipment volumes, and increased demand for efficient supply chain services. The port also benefited from the addition of new shipping services and sustained cargo flows across key international trade routes.
Port authorities attributed the record performance to ongoing capacity enhancements, digitalisation initiatives, and operational improvements that have enabled faster cargo handling and greater terminal efficiency.
