    The Port of Melbourne has announced its November 2024 trade figures, revealing a year-on-year (YoY) increase in container throughput to 293,000 TEUs.

    Full container import volumes (excluding Bass Strait) climbed in November 2024 compared to the previous year, while furniture, household appliances, and paperboard all fared better than last year.

    Furthermore, full container export volumes (excluding the Bass Strait) increased over the previous year, with cotton, lumber, hay, chaff and fodder, barley, and meats all exceeding last year’s statistics.

    The port reported that overall empty container traffic was higher in November 2024 than the previous year.

    In November 2024, the Port of Melbourne released its 2024 Sustainability Report detailing progress over the past year.
