The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) participated in Maritime Innovation Week 2025, where the Chief Innovation Officer of the Port Authority of Valencia, Juan Manuel Díez, presented the port’s roadmap for innovation.

During the event, the APV was able to share experiences and projects with representatives from leading international ports, thereby reinforcing its position as a key player in the field of maritime and port innovation. The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore the sector’s common challenges.

Furthermore, the event provided the APV with an opportunity to strengthen its collaboration with the partners of the Port Innovators Network (PIN), an alliance launched two years ago that is becoming a benchmark for the sector.

Finally, the APV has highlighted the importance of this type of initiative in “accelerating innovative solutions, sharing knowledge and generating international synergies that enable progress towards more sustainable and efficient ports”.

“The event has allowed us to incorporate new ideas and trends that will help accelerate the transformation of the port system,” Díez said.

“We are undoubtedly returning with new ideas to drive port innovation in the face of the main challenges facing the sector: decarbonisation, digitalisation and resilience.”

Earlier this month, the APV awarded Orange Spain the contract for the development and implementation of Valencia port’s private 5G network, for a total amount of €6.9 million ($7.9 million).
