PortMiami has welcomed the CMA CGM Bali to the seaport, a vessel with a total capacity of 15,000 TEU.

The containership is part of the Manhattan Bridge shipping route, which connects China to the US East Coast Ports through the Panama Canal.

Miami-Dade County Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, said: “The arrival of the Bali confirms that PortMiami has the capacity to welcome larger vessels. This ship symbolises a new era in transportation by combining innovation and environmental consciousness in the shipping industry.”

Hydi Webb, PortMiami Director and CEO, added: “We are grateful for our partnership with CMA CGM. We are committed to collaborative and sustainable maritime practices and a greener future for our port and community.”

In October 2022, PortMiami Crane Management, Inc., (PMCM) appointed PACECO MOMENTUM to install the digitalisation tool PACECO SPYDER on three additional Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes.

More recently, CMA CGM announced a collaboration with Nike to reduce the carbon foot-print of their maritime transport.
