RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Railways, has been granted the prestigious Navratna status by the Department of Public Enterprises, an official said in a statement released here on Sunday.

RailTel is now the 22nd CPSE to receive this honour, marking a key achievement in the company’s 24-year journey.

It operates one of the world’s largest public Wi-Fi networks across 6,112 railway stations.
Established on September 26, 2000, RailTel began as a telecom service provider for Indian Railways. Over the years, it has grown into one of India’s largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers.
