Private residential cruise, MS The World, Bahamas Flag Cruise Vessel, arrived at Chennai port on April 24 with 280 crew members and 89 passengers.
The vessel’s last port of call was Trincomalee, Sri Lanka and it is set sail to Visakhapatnam on April 26.
The specialty of MS The World, unlike other cruise vessels plying around the world, is that it is a private residential cruise ship operated like a condominium complex with large apartments that can be purchased.
While some residents choose to live on board full-time, others stay periodically.
Tour operators have organised individual tour itineraries for the passengers to go sight-seeing in the city including a walk tour of Mylapore, and George Town, Mamallapuram and Kancheepuram.
