CMA CGM Air Cargo is expanding its operations in Vietnam as rising export demand and manufacturing growth continue to strengthen the country’s position as a major global supply chain hub. The move reflects increasing airfreight opportunities emerging from Vietnam’s expanding electronics, textile, footwear, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
Industry sources said CMA CGM Air Cargo is enhancing cargo connectivity and capacity to support growing shipment volumes between Vietnam and key international markets in Europe, North America, and other parts of Asia. The expansion is expected to improve transit options for exporters handling time-sensitive and high-value cargo.
Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing manufacturing and export centres in Asia as global companies diversify production bases and reduce dependence on single-country supply chains. Rising foreign direct investment, competitive manufacturing costs, and expanding trade agreements have accelerated export activity from major industrial hubs such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Da Nang.
The increasing cargo demand is being driven by sectors including consumer electronics, smartphones, garments, footwear, automotive components, and e-commerce products. Air cargo operators are responding by adding capacity, strengthening regional networks, and expanding multimodal logistics services to support faster cargo movement.
CMA CGM Air Cargo’s expansion also aligns with the broader strategy of the CMA CGM Group to strengthen integrated sea-air logistics capabilities and capture growing demand for end-to-end supply chain solutions. The group has been investing in airfreight operations, dedicated cargo aircraft, and logistics infrastructure across Asia and Europe.
Analysts said Vietnam’s emergence as a major export-driven economy is reshaping regional logistics patterns and attracting greater investment from global shipping lines, airlines, and freight operators. Continued growth in manufacturing exports and cross-border e-commerce is expected to sustain strong demand for air cargo services in the country over the coming years.
