AION-Tech Solutions’ subsidiary, ROQIT, announced on November 18th that it has secured a contract from Indian Railways to design and deploy an advanced AI-powered parcel logistics platform.

The initiative aims to boost the railway’s capacity for lightweight to medium-weight small parcel delivery, positioning it for a digital, sustainable future.

The company, which also pioneers sustainable multimodal transportation through its electric fleet subsidiary ETO Motors, is set to launch the pilot phase of its solution with the South Central Railway in early 2026.

This pilot is a step towards a planned nationwide rollout, establishing a fully digital, customer-centric, and sustainable small parcel delivery ecosystem across India.

Pavan Chavali, CEO, ROQIT said, “In the pilot phase, we are leveraging ETO Motors, our electric fleet subsidiary, to power seamless parcel pick-up and delivery, ensuring a truly integrated, zero-emission movement of goods. Through ROQIT, we are bringing real-time transparency, Al-driven intelligence, and green mobility together to create a futureready, point-to-point parcel transportation network aligned with India’s Net-Zero vision.”

The current Indian Railways network is heavily focused on bulk freight, with only a small fraction of its capacity (0.5-1%) utilised for small to medium-sized parcels. This contrasts sharply with developed nations like Germany (6%), the EU (4-6%), and the US or Japan (2-3%).

ROQIT’s AI-driven platform is designed to bridge these significant efficiency gaps and unlock the immense, untapped potential in this sector.
