A new international air cargo route has been launched by SF Airlines, connecting Ezhou Huahu Airport in central China’s Hubei Province with Budapest in Hungary.

Launched on June 17, 2024, the Ezhou-Budapest cargo route is the first route linking Hungary with Ezhou Huahu Airport, China’s first cargofocused airport, according to a report by China’s press agency Xinhua. It is also SF Airlines’ third route from the airport to Europe .

A weekly round-trip flight, operated by a Boeing 747-400 freighter, offers over 200 tonnes of air cargo capacity. The direct air route will mainly serve parcel express and e-commerce goods, among others. It will expand channels for air logistics between the two countries and boost China-Europe economic exchanges, says the report.

The Ezhou Huahu Airport, which began operations in July 2022, opened its first international cargo route by SF Airlines in April 2023, the report added.
