The port congestion in Singapore and other Southeast Asia port hubs has improved, but still face delays, according to logistics firm C.H. Robinson.
Major transshipment ports in Asia— including Busan, Shanghai, and Singapore— are facing delays of 14-21 days. This is compounded by carriers omitting port calls to stay on schedule, C.H. Robinsons warned.
In response, carriers are rerouting transshipment hubs to alternative ports in Malaysia, India, and Sri Lanka, causing congestion at these locations as well. Additionally, Typhoons Yagi and Bebinca have exacerbated delays in China and Vietnam.
On the flip side, MSC has reinstated its Liberty service from the USEC to Asia, directly connecting Philadelphia to Asia.
