    Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), a key component of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPK), marked a significant leadership transition with Shri Jayasimha Ambour taking charge as Managing Director on 19 January 2026.

    A seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience in the maritime and port sector, Shri Ambour’s appointment is expected to further strengthen HDC’s operational efficiency and long-term growth strategy. Under his leadership, the dock complex is poised to focus on streamlining port operations, driving innovative infrastructure and port-led development, and advancing sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics solutions.

    Haldia Dock Complex plays a crucial role in handling bulk, breakbulk, liquid cargo, and container traffic in eastern India, supporting regional trade and industrial growth.
