    Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), visited the Haldia Dock Complex to review bulk cargo handling operations and assess the progress of key infrastructure and development projects at the port.

    During the visit, the Secretary held detailed interactions with port officials to evaluate operational performance, efficiency measures, and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing capacity and service reliability.

    Shri Vijay Kumar also chaired a Stakeholders’ Meeting attended by representatives from port users, trade bodies, and service providers. In his address, he underscored the importance of close collaboration among stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness. He further highlighted the need to align port development with sustainability goals and long-term planning to build a future-ready maritime ecosystem.

    The visit reflects the ministry’s continued focus on strengthening India’s port infrastructure and improving cargo handling efficiency to support growing trade volumes.
