    South Africa, a long-standing supplier of citrus to India, has launched a new marketing campaign to further strengthen this trade relationship. The initiative aims to enhance consumer awareness, stimulate demand, and highlight the quality, taste, and health benefits of premium South African citrus fruits across India.

    The campaign, themed “Beautiful Country, Beautiful Fruit, Exceptional Taste,” seeks not only to introduce new Indian consumers to South Africa’s fine citrus but also to build upon the existing friendship and trade ties between the two nations, which share deep historical, cultural, and economic bonds. The wider enjoyment of fresh and tasty citrus fruits is envisioned as an expression of these valued connections.

    Spearheaded by the Citrus Growers’ Association of Southern Africa (CGA-SA), the campaign will reinforce connections among Indian consumers, importers, retailers, and the passionate South African growers. As Indian households increasingly prioritize healthier food choices, South African citrus is being positioned as a naturally delicious source of essential nutrients like Vitamin C.

    “We are energised and motivated to bring the freshness, flavour, and natural goodness of South African citrus to Indian consumers,” stated Sachin Khurana, India Representative of the Citrus Growers’ Association of Southern Africa. “This campaign celebrates not only the beautiful fruit from the beautiful country but also the exceptional taste of the fruit.”

    India has emerged as one of the key growth markets for citrus imports, driven by rising incomes, evolving lifestyles, and a greater interest in health-conscious diets. Recognizing this significant opportunity, the campaign will actively engage with key stakeholders across the Indian fresh produce supply chain to ensure widespread access and availability through both retail and wholesale channels.

    Retail promotions are set to go live across leading retail chains and quick-commerce platforms in major metropolitan areas and Tier-II cities, showcasing the vibrancy and zest of South African citrus. Additionally, the campaign will feature multiple activations in leading wholesale markets, aiming to ensure broad availability while reinforcing South Africa’s established reputation as a trusted supplier of premium citrus.
