A team from the State Tax Department’s Special Investigation Branch (SIB) conducted raids at six locations of Speed Cargo Transport Company in Aligarh’s Delhi Gate area on Thursday night. During the operation, goods valued at approximately ₹50 lakh were seized for being transported without proper documentation.

Acting on the orders of Additional Commissioner Grade-I Dr. Anupama Goel, the operation was jointly led by JC SIB Reenu Kumari, with officers from Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, and Mathura participating. Raids were carried out simultaneously at six sites, including Hodgodam Kamela Road, Sarai Sultani Charakwalan, Upper Kot, Turkman Gate, and Double Water Tank area.

The seized goods, intended for dispatch to various states including Kolkata, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and others, included items such as locks, hardware, brass products, electronics, and other materials. The transport company was allegedly moving consignments using fake or no bills.

The operation, which commenced at 7 pm and continued until 3 am, uncovered several irregularities. It was found that trucks belonging to Speed Cargo Transport were carrying goods without valid bills or using bogus documents. The action was initiated following complaints and findings from a mobile investigation team.

A notice has been issued to transport operator Md. Khalid in connection with the violations.

Senior officials including DC SIB Neeraj Prakash, DC Administration Chandrashekhar, DC SIB Mathura Pratima Shukla, AC SIB Shiv Kumar Singh, AC Dr. Abhishek Singh, and several others supervised the extensive operation.

“Those evading taxes will not be spared. All business operations must comply strictly with GST regulations. The SIB team has detected major irregularities in the functioning of Speed Cargo Transport, and a detailed investigation is underway,” said Dr. Anupama Goel, Additional Commissioner Grade-I, Aligarh.
