    Team Global Express announced a $480 million, seven-year partnership with trans-Tasman cargo airline Texel Air Australasia.

    The partnership has introduced four Boeing 737-800 BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) aircraft to Team Global Express’ domestic air freight fleet to maximise delivery efficiency and reliability, according to an official release from Team Global Express.

    “The partnership commenced in June and transports freight throughout the country as part of the Team Global Express air network.”

    The Boeing 737-800 BCFs replace four aircraft in the company’s total fleet of forty planes and are the first to display Team Global Express branded livery. Texel’s 737-800 BCFs boast a 4,000kg increase in cargo capacity per flight from the aircraft they have replaced. Additionally, their multi-pallet configuration benefits the express and e-commerce freight market, enabling Team Global Express to offer greater flexibility for customer needs, the release added.

    “In a country as vast as Australia, air freight plays a vital role in connecting distant cities and transporting essential goods such as life saving medications, perishable goods, machinery equipment and livestock. Team Global Express moves over 100 million items each year across its multimodal network, and our point of difference is that we can rally our whole network during disruptive events such as inclement weather to get our customers’ freight where it needs to be,” says Christine Holgate, Group CEO, Team Global Express. “We’re excited to partner with Texel to enhance our customers’ domestic air freight experiences through greater network capabilities, good value pricing, and community and environmental benefits in the form of quieter, more fuel-efficient operations. The new planes contribute towards a 20 percent improvement in cargo capacity , which creates a greater carbon saving per parcel. ”

    The newly introduced planes enable more parcels to be delivered along regional flight paths on prioritised schedules including additional morning pick-ups at destinations such as Port Hedland, Norfolk Island and Karratha, the release added.
