Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured a $135 million locomotive order from South Africa, strengthening the Indian rail engineering company’s presence in the international railway market.
The contract covers the supply of locomotives for South African rail operations and adds to Texmaco Rail’s growing overseas order book. The project is expected to support the company’s strategy of expanding its railway manufacturing and engineering business beyond India.
The South African order highlights continued demand for locomotives and rail equipment as countries invest in upgrading freight and transport infrastructure. For Texmaco Rail, the contract provides an opportunity to leverage its manufacturing capabilities and experience in railway rolling stock and related systems.
