Thai Airways has officially named ECS Group, via its subsidiary HWF Scandinavia and Finland, as its exclusive General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) in Sweden and Denmark, starting May 15, 2025. This strategic appointment reaffirms a long-standing and successful
partnership between the two companies, underscoring Thai Airways’ confidence in ECS Group’s strong regional insight, proven global capabilities, and ability to deliver commercial performance across diverse cargo sectors.

Operating daily flights from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Bangkok — using Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft respectively — Thai Airways offers robust connectivity to the Asia-Pacific region, including key routes into Australia and Southeast Asia. These services provide consistent and reliable cargo uplift, catering to a wide spectrum of freight needs such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-tech goods, and vulnerable cargo (VUN).

Beyond traditional booking and handling responsibilities, HWF will lead sales and customer service operations with a focus on customized commercial strategies, local market engagement, and a deep understanding of Nordic shipper expectations. This hands-on approach, backed by ECS Group’s extensive international support network, ensures Thai Airways maintains agility and responsiveness in a competitive and evolving cargo landscape.

ECS Group’s relationship with Thai Airways spans multiple territories, and this new chapter in Sweden and Denmark reflects years of mutual trust and operational synergy. According to Thai Airways, the partnership is grounded in the alignment of strong local presence with advanced logistics strategy — a blend that continues to deliver tangible value to customers in the region.

Supporting this partnership is ECS Group’s digital innovation suite, powered by CargoTech. These intelligent tools support pricing optimization, real-time tracking, performance data analysis, and streamlined booking processes, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency
for clients. Customers can expect a high-tech, high-touch experience that meets both the operational and strategic demands of modern air freight.

Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “This isn’t just another GSSA appointment — it’s a statement of shared ambition. Together, we bring not only capacity but deep expertise, technology, and a relentless focus on customer success.”

Echoing this sentiment, Torbjörn Lundblad, Managing Director of HWF Scandinavia and Finland, added: “We are proud to represent Thai Airways in these key Nordic markets. Our team is deeply familiar with the needs of the region’s cargo community and is fully committed to elevating the carrier’s presence and performance.”

This expanded partnership positions Thai Airways and ECS Group for continued growth in Northern Europe, uniting global scale with local strength to deliver tailored cargo solutions across the Nordic market.
