THAI Airways has appointed Unilode Aviation Solutions as its full-service provider for Unit Load Device (ULD) management, maintenance, repair, and digital tracking. The move comes as the airline embarks on a new phase of growth following its successful business rehabilitation.

The partnership aims to improve fleet utilisation, reduce operational complexity, and enhance reliability for both passenger and cargo operations. Unilode’s global network and digital platforms will provide THAI Airways with real-time visibility and better sustainability
reporting, while centralised repair and refurbishment will extend ULD lifecycles and lower carbon emissions.

THAI Airways plans to nearly double its fleet to around 150 aircraft by 2033 and expand its market share in key international markets. The airline’s five-year strategic plan focuses on operational excellence, fleet renewal, and digital transformation.

Unilode will support THAI Airways through its Operations Control Centre in Bangkok and a global team of over 800 ULD experts. The company has invested heavily in infrastructure, training, and digital technology to expand its MRO footprint and offer a larger, more flexible
    pool of ULD assets.

Ross Marino, CEO of Unilode Aviation Solutions, said the partnership will deliver measurable results, improve efficiency, and support THAI Airways’ sustainability goals. THAI Airways’ Head of Cargo & Mail Commercial added that the collaboration is a key step in the airline’s
transformation strategy, helping to streamline operations and strengthen reliability.

As airlines worldwide increasingly prioritise sustainability and efficiency, the THAI-Unilode partnership underscores the industry trend towards full-service ULD management and asset pooling as a more responsible and effective solution.
