Tiger Logistics India on Thursday announced its plan towards setting up a dedicated
vertical – ‘TiGreen’ which will be focusing on strengthening its presence in the global trade
of sustainable & renewable energy, by providing tailor-made international logistics solutions, primarily for solar power and electric mobility segment. The scope of this dedicated vertical is in alignment with the Indian government’s initiatives towards promoting sustainable and renewable energy such as PM Surya Ghar scheme, which is expected to increase imports of solar cells, modules, or associated components.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana is a Central Scheme that aims to provide free electricity
to one crore households in India, who opt to install roof top solar electricity unit. The
households will be able to get 300 units of electricity free every month. It was approved
by the Union Cabinet on February 29th, with an outlay of Rs.75,021 crore, said a note on
    the Press Information Bureau.

In 2023, Tiger Logistics strengthened its network in Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam,
Thailand and Hong Kong which are emerging alternate destinations for the import of Solar
Module Panels in India. The company is already working with major global organizations &
SMEs to handle export and imports for Solar Modules & Electric Vehicles. With the commencement of TiGreen, the company will be looking at fostering partnerships with
businesses, government & PSU organizations, and stakeholders committed to sustainability.

The company in February had also announced splitting of its shares in the ratio of 1:10 to
increase public participation in the company’s shareholding. The company said the move
will increase liquidity of stock so that small shareholders/investors can also buy its shares.
It fixed Mach 4 as the record date to subdivide each share having a face value of Rs 10
into 10 shares, the logistics player said in an exchange filing.
