Taiwanese carrier TS Lines has added to its five-strong orderbook in a new deal with a Chinese shipyard in Guangzhou.
The boxship owner and operator has returned to Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for a pair of 4,300 teu newbuilds, each priced at about $60m and scheduled for delivery in 2027.
The 21st largest liner, founded in 2001, had ordered at Huangpu Wenchong in the past with 1,900 teu and 2,700 teu series already delivered and has newbuilds coming from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) comprising two methanol dual-fuelled 14,000 teu ships and two 7,092 teu vessels.
The latest series will see TS Lines’ owned fleet grow to 50 vessels on a fully delivered basis and around 168,000 slots.
