The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) has crossed a major milestone, processing over 100 crore API transactions, further cementing its status as a game-changer in India’s logistics sector.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal hailed this achievement as a significant leap towards creating a world-class, technology-driven logistics ecosystem under the Make in India initiative. He emphasized that ULIP is playing a crucial role in advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, fostering industrial growth and enhancing the Ease of Doing Business in India.

“This milestone reflects our Prime Minister’s vision of a seamless logistics ecosystem that strengthens Bharat’s position as a global trade and manufacturing powerhouse. We remain committed to expanding ULIP’s capabilities to make Indian logistics more agile, resilient, and competitive on the world stage,” the minister stated.

    Driving Efficiency, Transparency, and Accessibility

ULIP is bridging critical data gaps by enabling automation, real-time cargo tracking, and streamlined regulatory compliance across industries. With an average of 1 crore API transactions processed weekly, the platform is driving widespread adoption, democratizing access to logistics data, and leveling the playing field for businesses of all sizes.

This digital disruption is reshaping the competitive landscape by dismantling monopolistic control and empowering MSMEs, start-ups, and large enterprises alike. The manufacturing sector has been a major beneficiary, with companies such as Prism Johnson, Asian Paints, and Tata Steel leveraging ULIP’s APIs for automated transporter verification, process optimization, and supply chain efficiency.

    Multi-Modal Integration and Sustainability Focus
ULIP’s multi-modal APIs span road, rail, ocean, and air, providing real-time shipment ETAs, enabling just-in-time inventory management, and driving cost savings for manufacturers.

Beyond logistics, the platform is accelerating sustainability efforts, helping companies like Century Plywoods and TCIL adopt greener transport options, reduce carbon footprints, and align with India’s emission reduction goals.

    Streamlining Freight and Government Adoption
Transporters and logistics service providers—including Cuttack Carriers, Road Pilot, and Intugine—are utilizing ULIP to digitize documentation, automate gate processes, and streamline freight movement, reducing congestion and delays at logistics hubs.

Alongside private sector players, state and central government departments are also integrating ULIP for data-driven decision-making, further strengthening the
    national logistics framework.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the National Logistics Policy (NLP) on September 17, 2022, ULIP was designed to create an integrated, efficient, and technology-driven logistics ecosystem. Since its inception, the platform has made significant strides, connecting 43 systems from 11 ministries through 129 APIs, with over 1,300 registered companies onboard.

As ULIP continues to expand its reach, it is set to further redefine India’s logistics landscape, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and global competitiveness.
