Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday launched the Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 during an event marking the fourth anniversary of PM GatiShakti. The initiative aims to recognise and reward efforts that enhance efficiency, innovation, and sustainability across India’s logistics sector.

“LEAPS 2025 marks another milestone, recognising the efforts of stakeholders in improving efficiency and effectiveness in logistics nationwide,” said Goyal.

A flagship initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, LEAPS is designed to benchmark logistics excellence, strengthen India’s global competitiveness, and align with the objectives of the National Logistics Policy (NLP) 2022 and PM GatiShakti. It aims to celebrate best practices, leadership, and innovation across the logistics ecosystem, covering air, road, sea, and rail freight operators, warehousing, multimodal transporters, MSMEs, startups, and academic institutions.

The programme places special emphasis on sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices, and Green Logistics, encouraging collaboration between government, industry, and academia to enhance efficiency, transparency, and resilience.

Registrations for LEAPS 2025 are open on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, with the deadline for entries set for November 15. Applications are invited across 13 categories, including core logistics services such as air, road, maritime, and rail freight, multimodal transport operators, warehousing services, logistics MSMEs, startups in logistics technology, e-commerce logistics, and educational institutions promoting logistics.

According to the government, LEAPS 2025 will help create a future-ready logistics ecosystem, supporting Make in India, empowering Atmanirbhar Bharat, and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
