In a significant development for the logistics and trade sectors, UPS, has partnered with Dubai South to establish a new facility within its Logistics District. The establishment of this new facility is a strategic move to bolster UPS’s operational capabilities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), thereby enhancing the country’s international trade connections through UPS’s extensive global network.
The initiative aims to be fully operational before the year’s end, marking a substantial boost in the region’s logistics infrastructure. Tariq Badri, Director, Business Development and Investor Relations, and Andrew Sleiman, VP Legal, India Subcontinent, Middle East & Africa, formalized the agreement. Their meeting was attended by notable figures such as Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District, Dubai South, and Ismet Demirel, VP Transportation, India Subcontinent, Middle East & Africa, emphasizing the significance of this agreement.

The Logistics District at Dubai South is not just a testament to logistical innovation but also a hub that promotes efficient trade through its advanced infrastructure. This encompasses several zones with direct access to the cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, EZDubai, a fully dedicated e-commerce free zone, and a Contract Logistics Zone. These facilities are designed to ensure uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor, further cementing the district’s role in global commerce.
