    V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOC Port), Tuticorin, reported a robust operational performance in December 2025, reflecting sustained efficiency and steady growth across key cargo segments.

    During the month, the port handled 3.66 million tonnes of total cargo and 79,526 TEUs of container traffic, demonstrating strong operational momentum. On a month-on-month basis, total cargo traffic surged 29.53 per cent, while container traffic registered a sharp growth of 31.11 per cent, indicating improved productivity, turnaround time and reliability.

    On a year-on-year basis, the port recorded a 4.41 per cent increase in total cargo traffic, while container volumes grew by 10.47 per cent, underlining consistent demand and operational stability despite global trade challenges.

    The strong December performance reinforces VOC Port’s commitment to operational excellence, efficient logistics and customer-centric services. It also highlights the port’s growing role as a key maritime gateway in southern India, supporting national trade flows and contributing to the country’s broader economic growth.
