Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Institute of Logistics to strengthen industry-oriented management education and develop industry-ready professionals for India’s rapidly growing logistics and supply chain sector.
The partnership aims to integrate industry expertise, practical training and corporate engagement into VJIM’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme, bridging the gap between management education and employment opportunities in the logistics and supply chain industry.
The collaboration comes amid significant transformation in India’s logistics and supply chain landscape, driven by the expansion of e-commerce, manufacturing, organised retail, global supply chain diversification and investments in multimodal infrastructure.
Under the MoU, CII Institute of Logistics will leverage its extensive industry network, sectoral expertise and corporate relationships to strengthen VJIM’s academic ecosystem. Key initiatives will include industry-led classroom sessions, interactions with industry practitioners, professional mentorship, exposure to operational best practices, industrial visits, and opportunities for internships and placement support.
The partnership is expected to widen career opportunities for VJIM’s PGDM students across logistics service providers, e-commerce companies, manufacturing enterprises, retail organisations, consulting firms and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Growing demand for expertise in supply chain planning, procurement, operations transformation and analytics is creating new opportunities for management graduates across these sectors.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan Singh, Director, Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management, said the logistics and supply chain sector was evolving beyond traditional transportation and warehousing to become a strategic business function across industries.
He said VJIM was committed to equipping students with practical competencies, industry exposure and professional confidence to contribute effectively from the outset of their careers. The collaboration with CII Institute of Logistics would bring industry directly into the learning process through practitioner interactions, real-world business challenges and stronger career pathways.
He added that the initiative would play an important role in developing future supply chain leaders capable of contributing to India’s growing industrial and economic ambitions.
Beyond immediate employability, the partnership is also expected to strengthen long-term professional capabilities in areas increasingly shaped by digitalisation, sustainability, global trade realignment and integrated supply chain management.
The collaboration marks another step towards closer industry-academia engagement in developing the skilled management talent required to support India’s evolving logistics and supply chain ecosystem.
