    V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has achieved its highest-ever cargo traffic for the month of April, marking a strong start to FY 2026–27 and setting a new benchmark in operational performance.

    The port handled a cumulative cargo throughput of 3.79 million tonnes in April, reflecting a robust 10.39% increase compared to the same period last year. The growth highlights sustained operational efficiency, improved logistics management, and rising trade volumes through the southern gateway.
