    Western Railway has commissioned its first Gati Shakti multimodal cargo terminal in partnership with Shirpur Power Private Limited for the Mumbai division at Nardana in Maharashtra. This will facilitate more sustainable mode, higher efficiency of cargo handling, lower transit time, and enhanced freight handling system among others.

    The cargo terminal is also capable of loading a total of 2.05 million tonnes (mt) of freight and will generate cumulative freight revenue of around 3.74 billion annually for Indian Railways.

    Besides, it received its first freight rake from South Central Railway’s Secunderabad division.
