WS Industries (India) is planning to develop a modern logistics park and an integrated township at Sunguvarchatram in Sriperumbudur. The land is situated in the prime industrial hub of Sriperumbudur and Oragadam and is also close to major multinational companies.

The company envisages a modern logistics park and, in collaboration with architects, plans to build an integrated township with attendant infrastructure.

The erstwhile manufacturer of porcelain insulators for electrical transmission lines, which expanded the infrastructure business, emerged as the successful bidder in a recent auction held by the Central Bank of India (CBI) for 254 acres in Kancheepuram district.

The overall project cost for land is nearly Rs 107 crore. The acquisition came with around 150 acres pre-approved by the state government for light engineering and factory buildings.

In addition, WS Industries formed a joint venture (JV) with the Bengaluru-based Prestige Group to develop IT/ITES parks on 6.53 acres of immovable property owned by it at Porur in Chennai.
