Wan Hai Lines has announced the launch of its new India–East Med 2 (IM2) service, developed in partnership with Emirates Shipping Line FZE. The service commenced on June 1, 2025, further strengthening connectivity between India and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The IM2 service will be operated by four vessels, each with a nominal capacity of around 2,700–2,800 TEU, with Wan Hai contributing one vessel to the rotation. The fixed 28-day round-trip schedule will connect Mundra (India), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Suez (Egypt), Alexandria (Egypt), Mersin (Turkey), Suez, Jeddah, and back to Mundra.

The new service is expected to enhance coverage and provide shippers with a more efficient and reliable trade corridor linking India with key ports in the Eastern Mediterranean. Industry experts note that the move is strategically aligned with the growing demand for direct services across these fast-expanding trade lanes.

By teaming up with Emirates Shipping Line, Wan Hai Lines aims to improve schedule reliability and offer customers a stronger regional network. The launch of the IM2 service underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its presence and meeting evolving customer needs in the global container shipping market.
