Adani Kattupalli Port has etched its name in history by successfully handling 35,000 metric tonnes of Soda Ash, the largest parcel ever received at any Indian port.

To put this feat in perspective, the consignment is equivalent to filling over 1,400 large trucks or powering the production of millions of glass bottles, detergents, and other industrial products used in daily life.

Port officials credited the achievement to Kattupalli’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, efficient cargo handling systems, and robust multimodal connectivity, which ensured seamless operations for the record-breaking discharge.

“This milestone is not just about volume—it reflects our commitment to speed, reliability, and world-class service,” a port spokesperson said, adding that the port’s skilled workforce played a pivotal role in enabling such scale.

Strategically located near Chennai, Kattupalli Port continues to strengthen its position as a key gateway for South India’s trade, reinforcing India’s ambitions of becoming a global logistics leader.
