V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, has achieved a remarkable operational milestone by successfully discharging 38,319 metric tonnes of bulk coal from MV DANAE I at the NCB-II Berth — all within an impressive 24-hour window.

The achievement was made possible through the deployment of two Harbour Mobile Cranes (HMCs) at NCB-II, coupled with the efficient utilisation of the newly created additional backup space, significantly boosting cargo handling efficiency and reducing vessel turnaround time.

This performance milestone underscores VOC Port’s continued focus on operational excellence, infrastructure enhancement, and delivering seamless, time-bound services to the trade community.

With consistent improvements and strategic capacity augmentation, VOC Port is steadily reinforcing its position as one of India’s most efficient and dynamic maritime gateways.
