India’s largest integrated logistics provider is accelerating its transition to green logistics by rolling out 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) in collaboration with electric mobility start-up RIDEV over the next three months. The initiative targets key regions including the North East, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, marking a significant step in electrifying last-mile delivery operations.

The deployment comes as part of Delhivery’s broader strategy to decarbonise its urban delivery network and strengthen sustainable logistics capabilities. The collaboration introduces an “EV-as-a-Service” leasing model aimed at removing high upfront costs and technical barriers for the company’s delivery partners, helping gig workers transition more easily to electric mobility.

A successful pilot of RIDEV’s electric two-wheelers in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru demonstrated early benefits, including a reduction of 4,260 kg of CO₂ emissions and a drop of more than 50 % in daily operational costs for riders. Following the current rollout, Delhivery plans a phased expansion into other major hubs such as Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Goa.

The EV initiative has also resonated in the markets — Delhivery’s shares climbed more than 3 % following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s sustainable growth prospects amid rising demand for greener logistics solutions.

Delhivery already operates nearly 1,000 electric two-, three- and four-wheelers across its nationwide network, and this latest partnership underscores its commitment to systematically reduce reliance on internal combustion vehicles while advancing its carbon neutrality goals.
