Strengthening maritime cooperation and investment prospects, a U.S. delegation led by Consul General Laura Williams from the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad met with Shri P. L. Haranadh (IRTS), Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority, in Bhubaneswar.

The discussions centered on several strategic development initiatives poised to transform Odisha’s maritime landscape. Key projects highlighted included the proposed Bahuda Satellite Port, the development of a Green Hydrogen Jetty at Paradip, and the establishment of a shipbuilding cluster along the Mahanadi riverbank in Kendrapara district. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing port capacity, promoting clean energy adoption, and building a robust maritime manufacturing ecosystem.

Both sides also explored opportunities to boost cargo movement, with a focus on increasing export-import volumes and strengthening global trade linkages. The interaction underscored the growing international interest in Odisha’s port-led development model and its potential as a key maritime hub on India’s eastern coast.

Paradip Port Authority reiterated its commitment to sustainable growth, future-ready infrastructure, and fostering global partnerships to drive long-term economic expansion.
