A high-level delegation from CMA CGM met with senior officials of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority to reinforce their longstanding partnership and explore avenues for expanded collaboration in port and terminal operations.
The CMA CGM delegation included Colin Gout, Directeur Central Achats Ports et Terminaux, and Aditya Vikram Kapoor, Director – Head of Procurement. They held discussions with Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Chairman of SLPA, along with the authority’s senior management team.
Key industry stakeholders were also present at the meeting, including Shano Sabar, Deputy Managing Director of Hayleys Advantis Limited and Chairman of CASA, Eric van den Driesen, Country General Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Pasan Periyapperuma, Head of Operations (Sri Lanka), and Romesh Nugera, Assistant Manager – Operations (Sri Lanka).
Discussions centered on sustaining the existing working relationship while identifying new opportunities for business cooperation. Both sides acknowledged the mutual benefits of the partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration across port operations and procurement functions.
Following the meeting, the CMA CGM delegation conducted a site visit to port facilities to gain firsthand insight into day-to-day operations. The visit included key operational areas such as pilot stations, offering a closer look at vessel handling procedures and overall port management practices.
The visit aimed to better understand current operational frameworks and identify practical areas for improvement, particularly in enhancing efficiency and coordination between operational and procurement functions. It also supported ongoing dialogue on optimizing performance and unlocking future growth opportunities through closer cooperation.
