Chief Minister of Maharashtra has called for the development of 20 additional mega logistics parks in Nagpur, highlighting the city’s growing importance as a central logistics and freight distribution hub in India.
The Chief Minister said the expansion is aimed at strengthening Nagpur’s role in multimodal connectivity, leveraging its strategic location at the geographic centre of the country. The proposed logistics parks are expected to support warehousing, freight consolidation, container handling, and value-added logistics services.
Officials indicated that the initiative will focus on improving infrastructure for road, rail, and air-linked cargo movement, with enhanced integration to major industrial corridors and national highways. The move is also expected to attract private investment and boost employment opportunities in the logistics and supply chain sector.
Nagpur has been emerging as a key logistics hub due to its connectivity with major ports, industrial belts, and consumption centres across India. The proposed expansion aligns with Maharashtra’s broader strategy to develop world-class logistics infrastructure and reduce transportation costs for trade and industry.
