Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal (NSFT) has achieved a significant milestone in its rail connectivity journey with the arrival of its first-ever double-stack container train from ICD Tumb on 13 July 2026.
The inaugural train transported 180 TEUs, marking an important development in strengthening rail-based cargo movement between inland container depots and the terminal. The successful movement is expected to enhance multimodal logistics efficiency, improve cargo evacuation, and support faster, more sustainable supply chain operations.
The introduction of double-stack rail services underscores NSFT’s continued efforts to expand its hinterland connectivity and provide customers with cost-effective and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
