Global integrated logistics company Maersk has expanded its logistics footprint in Northeastern Brazil with the launch of a new distribution centre in Suape, Pernambuco, reinforcing its commitment to providing end-to-end supply chain solutions across the country.
Strategically located near the Port of Suape Complex and Recife International Airport, the new facility is designed to improve supply chain efficiency, visibility and resilience by integrating warehousing, distribution, inland transportation, cabotage and ocean logistics into a single, seamless solution.
The distribution centre spans nearly 12,000 square metres and features 11,297 pallet positions, 36 loading docks, and 100% electric material handling equipment, reflecting Maersk’s focus on operational efficiency and sustainability.
According to Ricardo Rocha, Vice President and Managing Director – East Coast South America at Maersk, Brazil continues to be one of the company’s most strategic markets in Latin America, with the Northeast emerging as a key hub for industry, retail and international trade.
He said the expanded logistics presence in Suape will help customers reduce supply chain complexity while providing integrated logistics solutions that connect production centres, ports and end consumers more efficiently.
The new facility further enhances Maersk’s integrated logistics capabilities in Brazil, enabling customers to benefit from faster cargo movement, improved inventory management and greater supply chain resilience amid evolving trade and market demands.
The investment underscores Maersk’s continued strategy of expanding its inland logistics infrastructure to support growing customer demand for integrated, flexible and sustainable logistics solutions across Latin America.
