Pilbara Ports has achieved a new annual trade milestone, recording its highest-ever cargo throughput and reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading bulk export port authorities. The record performance was driven by sustained demand for iron ore and other key resource exports, underscoring the Pilbara region’s importance to global commodity supply chains.

The strong annual results reflect consistent export activity across Pilbara Ports’ major facilities, supported by efficient port operations, reliable vessel movements and ongoing infrastructure investments. Iron ore remained the dominant commodity, while shipments of salt, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other bulk cargoes also contributed to the record trade volumes.

Pilbara Ports continues to play a vital role in Australia’s export economy, connecting major mining operations with international markets, particularly across Asia. The port authority has focused on expanding capacity, improving operational efficiency and strengthening maritime safety to accommodate growing trade demand.

The milestone highlights the resilience of the global resources sector despite ongoing economic uncertainty and evolving trade conditions. Continued investment in port infrastructure and digital technologies is expected to support future cargo growth while enhancing supply chain reliability.

With global demand for minerals and energy resources remaining strong, Pilbara Ports is well positioned to sustain its growth momentum and reinforce its role as a critical gateway for Australia’s bulk commodity exports.
