Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has renewed its partnership with SmartKargo, extending their collaboration on digital cargo management and reinforcing the airline’s commitment to modernising its air freight operations. The renewed agreement will enable MAS to continue leveraging SmartKargo’s cloud-based cargo management platform to enhance efficiency, customer service, and operational performance across its cargo network.

Under the partnership, SmartKargo will continue providing an integrated cargo management system that supports booking, capacity optimisation, revenue management, shipment tracking, and digital documentation. The platform is designed to streamline cargo processes, improve real-time visibility, and simplify interactions with freight forwarders, shippers, and logistics partners.

The renewed alliance reflects MAS’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at strengthening its cargo business amid rising demand for e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, perishables, and other time-sensitive shipments. By automating key workflows and enhancing data-driven decision-making, the airline expects to improve service reliability while reducing processing times and operational complexity.

SmartKargo said the extension of the partnership underscores the confidence Malaysia Airlines has placed in its technology platform to support long-term cargo growth. The collaboration will also focus on introducing new digital capabilities that improve customer experience, optimise asset utilisation, and enhance connectivity across the airline’s global cargo network.

As the air cargo industry continues to embrace digitalisation, the renewed agreement positions MAS to remain competitive in an evolving market by offering more efficient, transparent, and flexible cargo services. The partnership is expected to support future network expansion while helping the airline respond more effectively to changing customer and supply chain requirements.
