The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), jointly with the Office of the Additional DGFT, Coimbatore, and in association with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Ramanathapuram, organised a Capacity Building Programme on FTAs and Trade Facilitation – District as an Export Hub on September 18, 2026, in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu.
The programme focused on promoting exports from the district and encouraging local entrepreneurs to explore international markets. Key areas covered included Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), export promotion schemes, trade facilitation measures, export procedures and support available to businesses entering international markets.
The programme was addressed by Ramanathapuram District Collector M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, along with officials and representatives from DGFT, DIC, Walmart, MPEDA, APEDA, India Post and FIEO.
Speakers shared practical insights on export opportunities, market access, trade procedures and sector-specific support available to exporters. Around 75 exporters and entrepreneurs participated in the programme and interacted with officials on opportunities and challenges related to international trade.
