India’s exports to China are gaining momentum, with electronics, engineering goods and technology-linked products emerging as key contributors to the recent growth in shipments.

The changing export mix reflects increasing opportunities for Indian manufacturers in the Chinese market, particularly in sectors benefiting from rising demand for advanced components, industrial equipment and technology-related products.

Electronics has emerged as an important growth area, supported by India’s expanding domestic manufacturing ecosystem and greater integration with global supply chains. Engineering goods are also strengthening their presence, covering a wide range of industrial machinery, components and manufactured products.

The trend highlights efforts by Indian companies to diversify export destinations and increase shipments of higher-value manufactured goods. Growing capabilities in electronics and engineering are helping Indian exporters access new markets while reducing reliance on traditional commodity exports.

Improved manufacturing capacity, investments in technology and stronger supply-chain linkages are expected to create further opportunities for Indian exporters seeking to expand their presence in China.

The rise in exports also comes as India continues to focus on boosting manufacturing competitiveness and increasing the contribution of technology-intensive and value-added products to overall merchandise exports.
