    China-based Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery (SDLG) is set to significantly expand its manufacturing presence in India with a planned investment of around ₹1,500 crore.

    As the first phase of the expansion, SDLG has invested ₹300 crore in a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The plant is being developed in phases and is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of up to 3,000 construction-equipment units.

    The facility will manufacture a range of equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators and electric construction machinery, catering to India’s growing demand for construction and infrastructure equipment.

    SDLG also plans to increase localisation and sourcing from Indian suppliers, which could strengthen its domestic supply chain and reduce dependence on imported components.

    The investment forms part of SDLG’s broader strategy to establish India as an important manufacturing and market base, supported by continued infrastructure development and demand for construction equipment.
