Gulftainer is expanding aluminium export operations through Khorfakkan Port, strengthening the facility’s role as a regional gateway for industrial cargo and international trade.

The expansion is expected to increase the port’s ability to handle aluminium shipments and provide exporters with efficient access to global markets. Aluminium is a major industrial commodity, with demand supported by the construction, automotive, packaging and manufacturing sectors.

Gulftainer’s operations at Khorfakkan are also expected to benefit from the port’s strategic location outside the Strait of Hormuz and its connectivity with major international shipping routes.

The increased aluminium volumes highlight the importance of specialised cargo-handling and logistics services for industrial exporters. Efficient terminal operations can help reduce cargo dwell times and improve the movement of bulk and breakbulk commodities.

Khorfakkan Port is an important gateway for the UAE’s east coast and serves international shipping services connecting the region with markets across Asia, Africa and Europe.

The expansion is expected to strengthen Gulftainer’s role in supporting industrial supply chains while enhancing Khorfakkan Port’s position as a key hub for aluminium and other project and industrial cargo.

As regional trade volumes grow, investments in cargo-handling capacity and port connectivity are likely to remain important for supporting the UAE’s wider logistics and export ambitions.
