Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has registered a significant improvement in rail cargo handling efficiency, recording a 15.34% year-on-year growth in average daily rake unloading during FY 2026–27.

The port’s cumulative average rake unloading increased to 42.63 rakes per day in FY 2026–27, compared with 36.96 rakes per day in FY 2025–26, reflecting improved operational performance and enhanced rail logistics capabilities.

The achievement highlights PPA’s continued focus on strengthening rail infrastructure, streamlining cargo handling operations and ensuring faster, more efficient movement of bulk commodities, including thermal coal, iron ore and pellets.

The improved rake unloading performance is expected to further enhance cargo evacuation efficiency, optimise rail connectivity and strengthen Paradip Port’s position as a key maritime gateway for India’s bulk cargo trade.
