SWISS WorldCargo has commenced its first cargo transport to Bengaluru, marking the launch of a new five-times-weekly service between Zurich and the Indian city under its winter 2026/27 schedule. The inaugural cargo flight took place on October 27, 2026, with the service scheduled to operate until March 27, 2027.

Operating as LX 140, the outbound flight departs Zurich at 1:20 PM and arrives in Bengaluru at 2:55 AM the following day. The return service, LX 141, leaves Bengaluru at 4:50 AM and reaches Zurich at 10:50 AM on the same day.

The new connection marks SWISS WorldCargo’s first direct cargo service to South India, expanding its existing Indian network, which already includes daily flights to Mumbai and Delhi. The service is expected to provide additional air freight capacity and connectivity for businesses shipping goods between Europe and one of India’s major industrial and technology centres.

Bengaluru is a significant hub for technology, electronics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, automotive manufacturing and industrial production. The city’s growing international trade and manufacturing base is driving demand for reliable, time-sensitive air cargo connections to Europe and other global markets.

Commenting on the launch, Alain Chisari, Head of SWISS WorldCargo, said the nonstop Zurich–Bengaluru connection would strengthen the company’s presence in India and provide customers with a new gateway for high-value, sensitive and temperature-critical shipments.

The expansion reinforces India’s strategic importance in SWISS WorldCargo’s network, as the country continues to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and international trade connections.
