    Maharashtra Ports Development Minister Sanjay Bansode has asserted that the role of the state government is to provide all necessary cooperation and support to investors in the marine sector of the state.

    Speaking in a seminar at the Global Maritime Summit on promoting ports, transport, industry and tourism in Maharashtra on Tuesday, he stated that Maharashtra is a very important centre in terms of sea trade in Western India and has a very good environment for industry.

    He said that the state has recently announced ambitious Maharashtra Maritime Development Policy-2023, which covers almost all aspects of the maritime sector.

    He further said that maritime industry plays a major role in economic development of the country, in terms of the growth of gross national income and job creation, he pointed.
    The organisation of this conference has provided a platform for investment, innovative technology, strategic initiatives and cooperation in the global maritime industry, he added.
