The office opening, according to COSCO Shipping, is a “significant milestone for our company as we expand our presence in this key region”. The company has been on an expansion drive of late, recently opening offices in Thailand and the UAE.

Elsewhere, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier’s vessel Xiang Rui Kou delivered the final jackets for the Neart na Gaoithe (NNG) offshore wind farm on October 12. This final shipment was the sixth voyage the company has executed for the project since August 2021.

A total of 54 jackets weighing in at over 81,000 tonnes were delivered from Saipem’s construction yard in Karimun via the Cape of Good Hope to the project. COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers’ entire range of semi-submersible vessels have been utilised for the project, from the 20,000 swt Kang Sheng Kou vessel up to the 98,000 dwt Xing Guang Hua.
