Now, customers in the city can book speed post, registered letters and parcels right from their homes through a new online service — ‘Click N Book’ — of the postal department. The facility was launched in 107 pin codes in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

A maximum of five articles can be booked at a time with a weight of up to 5kg.

“A free pickup will be provided if the tariff is more than 500, but 50 will be charged if the booking charge is less than 500,” assistant director (business development) of Telangana postal circle, NSS Rama Krishna, said in an official statement.

Customers can register on the postal department’s website www.indiapost.gov.in to avail the services. Customers can book the slots for pickup from 10 am to 4 pm on the same day or next working day, except Sundays, local and gazetted holidays.
