Adani Gangavaram Port Limited (AGPL), India’s deepest and among its most modern ports, has been conferred the prestigious “Environmental Excellence Award” in the Platinum Category by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The recognition was announced at the 19th Environment Partnership Summit & Excellence Awards held in Kolkata.

The award highlights AGPL’s strong commitment to sustainable development, environmental conservation, and responsible infrastructure growth. The port has embedded green practices across its operations, adopting energy-efficient technologies and community-focused environmental programmes to reduce ecological impact while supporting long-term growth.

Over the last three years, AGPL has secured six national-level environmental awards, reinforcing its leadership in sustainability within India’s maritime and logistics sector. The port’s initiatives are aimed at building a cleaner, greener, and more efficient port ecosystem aligned with its vision of shared progress.

Key sustainability measures implemented at Adani Gangavaram Port include continuous ambient air quality monitoring for real-time regulatory compliance, mechanised cargo handling systems to reduce dust emissions, integrated truck tarpaulin covering facilities to prevent spillage, and mechanised road-cleaning solutions to maintain dust-free port roads and enhance worker safety.

Commenting on the achievement, the management of Adani Gangavaram Port Limited said the recognition reflects the collective dedication of its teams toward ensuring environmentally responsible operations. The port reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving environmental performance and setting higher benchmarks for sustainable port operations in India.
