Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) reported a 9% year-on-year increase in container throughput during fiscal year 2025, reflecting sustained growth in cargo volumes across its port network despite a challenging global trade environment.

The growth was driven by higher import and export activity, increased transshipment volumes and improved operational efficiency at key container terminals. The performance underscores APSEZ’s continued expansion as India’s largest private port operator, supported by investments in infrastructure, automation and multimodal connectivity.

Container traffic remained a key contributor to the company’s overall cargo handling performance, with strong demand from sectors such as manufacturing, consumer goods, engineering products and automotive exports. Enhanced rail and road connectivity also helped improve cargo evacuation and reduce turnaround times at major ports.

The company continues to expand its logistics ecosystem through integrated port, rail, warehousing and inland transportation services, enabling customers to benefit from seamless end-to-end supply chain solutions. These initiatives have strengthened APSEZ’s position as a preferred gateway for domestic and international trade.

Industry analysts said the steady increase in container throughput reflects resilient trade demand and India’s growing role in global supply chains. With ongoing capacity expansion and continued investment in port infrastructure, Adani Ports is well positioned to support rising container traffic and the country’s long-term maritime trade growth.
